7 Healthy Hair Resolutions for 2019

Well here we are, half way through January already! How are your New Years resolutions going? Sticking with it? Broken a few already? Don’t like to make resolutions? Well wherever you are at here is a small list of easy hair resolutions!

If you want healthy hair you can’t afford not to try them!

1. Cut the blow dry

Try only blow drying your hair once a week. Wash your hair at night and go to bed with wet hair, I’ll braid my hair super loosely so it won’t dry crazy.

2. Use heat only 2 times a week

Less heat on your hair mean less breakage and split ends! Get creative with your styles so you don’t have to use heat as much

3. Mask once a month

You can get different hair masks for your type of hair or what your hair needs more of(repair/hydrate) pick one your hair needs more of, I go for repair but if your unsure go for a hydrating one because we all need more moisture! It only has to be for 10 minutes minimum to do the trick. Hair masks just give your hair that extra healing boost it needs!

4. Get a trim every 10 weeks

To maintain healthy hair and for it to grow you need to cut off those split ends! Check out my blog post Healthy Hair 101 -part 1 for more tips on when to get your hair cut.

5. Use a heat protectant

I recommend putting one in after you shower while your hair is damp and also before you use heat on it.

(Heat: blowdryer,curling iron and flatiron)

6. Go one extra day not washing your hair

We try so hard to keep our hair free of oil but our natural hair oil is what helps keep our hair healthy! Throw your hair up in a bun or wear a hat to get through that extra day.

7. Proper brushing

Yes there is a right and a wrong way to brush your hair!

Always start at your ends, untangling your hair from bottom to top, this goes for back combing too.

And never use a brush(unless it’s a WetBrush) when your hair is wet! Wide tooth comb only!

BONUS: An extra one for my blondies

In between your blonding appointments go in for a tone refresh service. This will up keep your blonde and 1. You might be able to go longer in between appointments and/or 2. You will always have a nicer blonde and your stylist won’t have to lighten your existing blonde as often
